It\u2019s vital for anyone feeling like this to seek support.<\/span><\/big><\/p>\n<p><big><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So what sort of things can cause stress? Here are some examples:<\/span><\/big><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-checked=\"false\" aria-level=\"1\"><big><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A lot of schoolwork.<\/span><\/big><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-checked=\"false\" aria-level=\"1\"><big><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Preparing for exams.<\/span><\/big><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-checked=\"false\" aria-level=\"1\"><big><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bullying.<\/span><\/big><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-checked=\"false\" aria-level=\"1\"><big><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arguments at home.<\/span><\/big><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-checked=\"false\" aria-level=\"1\"><big><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Illness in the family.<\/span><\/big><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-checked=\"false\" aria-level=\"1\"><big><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Domestic Violence.<\/span><\/big><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><big><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Different people cope with stress in different ways &#8211; some cope better than others.<\/span><\/big><\/p>\n<p><big><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Positive things can cause stress too e.g. starting college or going to university.\u00a0 Some people need a little stress to give them an incentive to achieve things.\u00a0<\/span><\/big><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><big><b>The side effects of stress<\/b><\/big><\/p>\n<p><big><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Again, stress can affect people in different ways. It can affect feelings and it can affect us physically. Here are some examples of how stress can affect the body:<\/span><\/big><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><big><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tiredness.<\/span><\/big><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><big><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Difficulty sleeping.<\/span><\/big><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><big><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lack of appetite.<\/span><\/big><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><big><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stomach ache.<\/span><\/big><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><big><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Headache.<\/span><\/big><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><big><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pains in the neck and shoulders.<\/span><\/big><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><big><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How stress can affect how we feel<\/span><\/big><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><big><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It can make someone feel sad.<\/span><\/big><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><big><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It can make someone lose their temper and be irritable.<\/span><\/big><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><big><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A person can have trouble concentrating and focussing upon work.<\/span><\/big><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><big><b>If you experience stress and need ideas about how to cope, here are some strategies:<\/b><\/big><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><big><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Share how you are feeling with someone. It sounds simple and it is! But it works.\u00a0<\/span><\/big><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><big><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Write a list for yourself of all the things that cause you stress. For each one, write down what you can do to tackle the problem &#8211; it really does help to organise these things in your mind.<\/span><\/big><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><big><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take a break and make time for something that you enjoy doing.<\/span><\/big><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><big><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do something relaxing e.g. take a bath or go for a walk.
